A true catalyst for international collaboration, the vessel has already supported the research efforts of over 500 researchers from 27 countries. The CCGS Amundsen now adorns the new Canadian 50$ polymer bank note, acknowledging her accomplishments as one of the World's premier Arctic research infrastructures. Helping Local Inuit Women
There are more and more Inuit women who travel south to places like Montreal for a new life. Some, however, end up in the streets. Isolation and accessing welfare services are part of their daily lives. Chez Doris, offers them a safe place. Chez Doris offers an Inuit Assistance Program. This program provides education on health and social services. It provides a safe and accepting environment for those women who are cut off from northern families and friends. It promotes self-confidence. Offers Inuit cultural activities, encourages communication with their home community. Chez Doris, has been providing assistance to women in difficulty since 1974. It is open 7 days a week and nearly 100 women arrive at their door step every day. The shelter survives only on the generosity of the community.

In celebration of Earth Day, we invite you to join us in sprucing up Chez Doris to make the house even more welcoming; painting, cleaning, gardening… Let's help them continue their great work and dedication and give back to the Montreal Community. Maximum 20 participants.
